It almost feels like spring in Seattle, which means it’s almost trench coat weather! I think a classic trench is such a perfect addition to any wardrobe and if the typical neutral colors aren’t your jam, you’re in luck because brands are now offering them in all sorts of colors these days, like orange and pink! But for today’s post, I am going to share two ways to style a classic trench coat.

In my opinion, when it comes to putting an outfit together, especially if that is something that feels overwhelming to you, the key is to not overcomplicate it and instead keep things simple. Both of these outfits have the same components - three main pieces (trench, tee and jeans) and four accessories (sunglasses, earrings, bag and shoes) and both give off a timeless, classic and effortless vibe.

In this case, I chose items that I either own or are on my wish list (these jeans being one of them) but feel free to insert your own pieces and put your own spin on it. For example, if you’d rather sub in your dark wash skinny jeans and a lightweight camel overcoat instead of a tan trench and straight-legged medium wash denim, then by all means do it! The look is still going to give off a similar feel because the components are similar. I urge you to try this with other outfits you see and like online and challenge yourself to use something you already have in your closet that is similar.
