How I Cleaned These Sneakers Using Just Three Products
Who knew a little sprucing up of these Reeboks would make such a difference! They look almost brand new again, and it only took me about 20 minutes, using just three products.
I know there are a lot of shoe cleaning kits out there as well as places you can take them to get professionally polished up, but in this case, I wanted to see what I could with what I had under my kitchen sink.
I first started with a Magic Eraser, which promptly fell apart in my hands, and left a ton of residue all over the shoe. So I grabbed my Norwex Cleaning Paste and wet a basic microfiber cloth, squeezed out the excess water and dipped into the paste. This is where a toothbrush would have come in handy and I could’ve scrubbed harder without tiring out my fingers but generally it worked like a charm! Wherever there was rubber or leather I used this combo, and on the suede I spritzed a little bit of this stain remover onto my cloth and blotted wherever I saw discoloration. Lastly, I used the same cloth, just in a different area, and poured a little rubbing alcohol on it and wiped down the insides of the shoe. Soap and water should be good enough to clean the bottom soles and voila! You have “just like new” shoes once again!
*The only two things that I would do differently is, I’d wear some latex gloves to protect my hands from the rubbing alcohol, and enlist a toothbrush to do the scrubbing instead of just my fingers and a cloth, but otherwise I am super happy with how it turned out!
